Staff Profile
This month’s featured staff member is Jim McGough. Jim is a Chrysler Jeep Dodge mechanic and a veteran of the rally car racing circuit.
Rallying is racing on closed public roads or in forests where the crew drive as fast as possible on a special “stage”. With a transport section in between stages where all road rules apply. The winner is the one who completes the circuit in the fastest time without penalties.
Jim has been a rally driver for almost 15 years, highlights include:
- Australian Rally Championship winner in 2001 – Class N3, two wheel drive production cars;
- 2008 Clubman Rally Championship winner;
- Current president of the Southern Districts Car Club – one of the largest motor sport clubs in South Australia.
