I recently discovered Yum Sing Express on South Road in Bedford Park. If you like Chinese food this place is great and it’s really inexpensive. You can get a pretty nice meal for less than five dollars. They offer dine in facilities, take away as well as a drive through option so it’s just like a fast food outlet but for Chinese food. So far, I’ve tried the Yum Cha which includes a spring roll, steamed dim sim, prawn toast, pork bun, siew mai served with light soy sauce for $6.95. As well as the King Prawn Salad served on a bed of crisp mixed salad greens, cucumber slices, carrot straws and Spanish onion with Yum Sing light, tangy dressing for $10.90. The service can be a bit average sometimes as you would expect from a fast food place but overall they offer great tasting food, at a great price and from a convenient location.

This month’s featured staff member is Jim McGough. Jim is a Chrysler Jeep Dodge mechanic and a veteran of the rally car racing circuit.
Rallying is racing on closed public roads or in forests where the crew drive as fast as possible on a special “stage”. With a transport section in between stages where all road rules apply. The winner is the one who completes the circuit in the fastest time without penalties.

Introducing the Ford Performance Enthusiasts (FPE) Club of South Australia.
FPE is a social group for enthusiasts of FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles), XR, Tickford and specific Ford Heritage or modified Ford vehicles.
FPE is a South Australian based group that was formed by a small bunch of friends with the aim of providing a friendly, family oriented social “club” for those who enjoy driving their Ford Performance vehicles and socialising with others who have similar interests.

I went and checked out Matsuri Japanese Restaurant on Gouger Street in the city on Friday night with a friend. We ordered the large boat – a selection of sushi and sashimi which was perfect for two people. Although there was a lot of other stuff that I wanted to try too but I had to resist the temptation! Cost was $60.80. This place offers authentic Japanese cuisine that is inexpensive and yet delicious. The food is all fresh and beautifully presented and the atmosphere is simply delightful. The waitress was really cute and did a good job serving us. We didn’t have to wait too long for our order to arrive which was good. If you like Japanese food and want an alternative to the Sushi Train then you should definitely check this place out. I will certainly be back again to try out the rest of what they have to offer.

Recently there have been a number of news reports (Fairfax County USA) regarding fraudulent car adverts, according to a police press release:
“In three separate incidents, interested car buyers responded to online adverts, co-ordinated a time and place to meet the purported car seller and when they arrived, two males approached and demanded money. At least one suspect displayed a gun.”

If you’re looking for something to do on a Tuesday night then this is the place to be. Especially during the warmer months this place can get really busy. The crowd is good looking and you tend to run into a lot of people who work in the hospitality industry here (because they’re usually working on a Friday / Saturday night) as well as the younger crowd (uni students). The beer garden is very popular during summer and you’ll have to get there early if you want to get in. Sometimes during the summer months you will see a massive line up outside. It’s also busy during special occasions such as the Melbourne cup in which case you will need to book well in advance if you want to get in. On weekends they host a lot of functions such as weddings and birthday parties so you will find a wider variety of people / age groups during this time.

Hyundai Motor Company rose four spots to No. 61 in the Interbrand “2011 Best 100 Global Brands” ranking released this week. Hyundai was recognised as being the“Fastest Growing Brand” for a second straight year. Interbrand calculated Hyundai‟s brand value at US$6 billion, a 19.3 percent increase over 2010, achieving the highest increase among automakers.
Hyundai stood out amongst the automotive industry‟s strong performers, which came during a period of relative weakness for most of the 100 Best Global Brands.
The average growth rate of the 11 automotive brands, included in the top 100, was 8.1 percent, while the average growth rate of all 100 Best Global Brands was only 2.6 percent compared to 2010.

In the lead up to Round 3 of the South Australian State Motor Racing Championship Paul Abbott from AMG Racing found himself in a bit of a dilemma. His tow vehicle was creating problems. It simply just stopped working and they couldn’t find any explanation for it. Even though they had ordered some parts from Germany, it would take at least six weeks to get here and that’s only if they had the parts in stock.
Time running out and unable to solve their engine problems the AMG Racing team approached Adrian Brien Ford for assistance. Fortunately, we had the PERFECTvehicle for the job… a Ford Ranger and were able to loan it to the AMG Racing team for one week in return for some signage and promotional exposure. Wonderful Art Deco building from the 1920s set right on the sand at the beautiful Semaphore beach. Glass panels provide you with an unspoilt view of all the tranquil seaside bliss. It doesn’t really look like a pub and the food is more upmarket than most pubs although a bit pricey. On Friday and Saturday nights it’s also a bit of a nightclub with top 40 music. It’s worth checking out on a lovely sunny day if you’re looking to hang out at the beach and experience some awesome outdoor beachside dining. It’s a pretty nice venue for a beach themed wedding reception also. With at least two function rooms that I noticed - a ballroom upstairs and a groovy atrium surrounded by glass panels which makes you really feel like you are at the beach. The atrium would be great for cocktail style function. Being next to the beach it got pretty cold at night so be sure to bring an extra layer of clothing just in case.
